Old Bake House Cottage
Thank you for our very enjoyable stay in September. We especially loved unlocking the keybox and finding the Old Bakehouse warm and welcoming, with the fairy lights on. Every room was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the treats you left for us, especially the homemade cherry cake, milk, posh crisps and apple juice. The Old Bakehouse is well equipped and we were glad to be able to cook our own meals and watch films on iPlayer, etc, in the evenings, which was more relaxing than driving too often through the narrow lanes with passing places in the area. Your garden is beautiful and the setting of Cwm Mill is gorgeous. We had the most amazing weather for our walk up Cat's Back Ridge, so we continued to walk on to Hay Bluff and back, because we felt we were on top of the world! We would also recommend visiting Llanthony Priory, Hay-on-Wye, White Castle, Skenfrith Castle to anyone staying with you. Walking to Craswall Priory to see the ruins and ending up with a couple of pints by the fire in the cosy Bull Inn at Craswall was another highlight of our trip. We foolishly drove to Hay on the most direct route, on the single-track lane with too few passing places, which was a rather twisty, narrow, hilly and stressful drive, so would encourage others to drive the longer way round, via Michaelchurch. Thank you for your hospitality. Kate and Malcolm
