Directions to Cwm Mill
From Abergavenny
Take the A465 towards Herefordshire until you reach the village of Pandy. At the Pany Inn Pub turn left off the A465 along the road that passes in front of the Pub. Continue for some 3 to 4 miles along the country lane until you reach Longtown. Once in Longtown continue on the Village passing Longtown Castle on your left hand side (its along village to pass thru’), and continue out of the Village in the direction of Hay on Wye. After a further 2 – 3 miles you will reach a sign indicating you have reached Craswall. Cwm Mill is still one mile further down the Hay road after you reach this sign. You will pass a farm on your left with a turning to Michaelstone to your right, continue straight on pass the farm. You will next reach a large house dedicated to outdoor pursuits and labelled “Mountain Mayhem”. Continue another ¼ mile past Mountain Mayhem and you will reach the turning for Cwm Mill on your right hand side. There is likely to be s Farm sign for Watkins Texels on one side of the lane and on the other a sign for Cwm Mill itself.
As you drive down our access lane you will first pass an Old Chapel (now "The Meads" Cottage) on your right, this is not part of the Cwm Mill complex. After you pass the Old Chapel there is an immediate right turn onto the driveway which serves Cwm Mill, itself, and the Old Bake House Cottage too. Parking for Cwm Mill is at the bottom of the drive way whilst parking for the Old Bake House is at the end of a left turn off the drive way just before the wooden lodge (opposite the wooden garage). River Cottage is the next driveway on the left after the Cwm Mill turn off. It has its own parking at the bottom of the drive and in front of the Cottage.
From Hereford
Leave Hereford on the A465 heading towards Abergavenny. You will pass Belmont Abbey on your right. Take the next right turn (B4349) towards Clehonger and Madley. When you reach Clehonger Village turn left towards Kingstone. Continue on through the Village and you will come to a T- junction, turn right on the B4348 towards Vowchurch and Peterchurch. When you reach Vowchurch the road dips and here you turn left towards Turnastone and Michaelchurch Escley. Proceed a further 4 miles until you reach Michaelchurch Escley. At the T-junction turn left, pass the cricket pavilion on your right, and take the next right hand turn to Craswall. Follow the twisty lane for some mile until you reach a sign for Craswall, continue on down the hill. Turn left at the T junction and continue for a further one mile. You will see a sign for Black Hill farm on your right, we are the next lane on your left, sign posted to Cwm Mill.

From Hay on Wye
(The direct route to Cwm Mill involves travelling down a single track lane with passing points. A longer but easier route is to travel from Hay on the B4020 towards Ross on Wye. Stay on the B4020 until you reach Vowchurch and turn right at Vowchurch, pass the Church on your left hand side as you take the road to Michaelchurch. Then follow the directions above as if you were coming from Hereford.)
Direct Route (8.5 miles)
Leave Hay on Wye on the B4350 taking the road sign posted to Capel-y- FfIN. This is a direct road to Craswall but is narrow for long stretches with few passing points.
The B4350 takes you out of Hay via the mountains. After approximately 2 miles the road divides. Take the left hand fork. (the right hand fork is sign posted Capel-y-Ffin). This is a single track and twisty road. Continue along this road for some 6 miles, you will pass a sign for Craswall but you need to continue you on for a further 5-6 miles. You will pass Craswall Church on your left and then the (former) Bulls Head Pub where there is a very sharp left hand turn. Once pass the pub continue you on a for some 3-4 miles, you will eventually pass the White Haywood Farm Restaurant on your right and after approximately one more mile you will see the sign for “Black Hill Farm” on your right, we are down the next lane on your left hand side, look out for a sign post on your left to Cwm Mill.
